MATH MEET 2018 { home }

The next Math Meet will be held on Saturday February 24, 2018.

We’re excited to announce that Dr. Rudy Horne will give an invited lecture at this year's math meet! Dr. Horne, an associate professor of mathematics at Morehouse College in Atlanta, served as a consultant for the movie Hidden Figures, which chronicles the challenges faced by black female mathematicians working for NASA during the segregation era. He will give a presentation about the movie and his experience as a consultant.
We've also arranged to show the movie on campus the evening of Friday, February 23. The showing will include a panel discussion about the content of the movie, and the historical facts on which it is based. So if you'll be in town Friday evening and you're not participating in the Programming Competition, we'd love to have you at the showing.
Both events will be free and open to the public. Further details will be posted here.
Since this will affect the schedule for events on Saturday, we plan to have only two rounds of team elimination. The teams with the best scores at the end of the second round will be declared winners.
You can begin registering a team for the next competition right now. You will need to enter your school code and select a password. If you already have a password, login to our registration site to access or edit your information. The registration deadline is Friday February 2, 2018.
The Department of Computer Science at the College of Charleston will hold the 36th Annual High School Programming Competition on February 23, 2018, the evening before the Math Meet. Separate registration is required. More details are posted at their web site
