- Come to the Math Department:
Once you're in Charleston, one teacher from your team should come to the Math Department to pick up your team's teacher packet and tee-shirts.
Come to the RSS building, up to the third floor.
The street address of that building is
175 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC 29401.
It's close to the intersection of Calhoun and St. Philip.
- GPS:
For driving in with a GPS, I recommend setting the destination to
89 St. Philip Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
That should get you to the parking deck on St. Philip Street just north of Calhoun.
- From Highway I-26:
Take the Meeting Street exit 221B.
The highway ends and splits into 17N and 17S.
Stay left for 17S and left again for Meeting Street.
Turn right onto meeting street at the end of the ramp.
After a long drive, you will pass an Embassy Suites hotel on your right which looks like a coral-colored castle.
(It was actually the campus of the Citadel.)
Just after that will be a park.
Turn Right just after the park onto Calhoun Street.
Go straight through the traffic light at King Street and then turn Right onto St. Philip Street.
The parking garage is ahead on your left.
If this garage is full, there is another one further south on St. Philip Street.
- Highway 17 from the North:
Drive over our beautiful suspension bridge.
Get off at the King Street exit and turn Right onto King.
Turn Right at the traffic light on Spring Street and then Left at the next corner onto St. Philip Street.
As you continue straight on St. Philip, you will pass our parking garage on your right just before the major intersection at Calhoun Street.
If this garage is full, there is another one further south on St. Philip Street.
- Highway 17 from the South:
When the highway crosses over the Ashley River on a small bridge with a steel-mesh deck, get in the center lane.
The right lane will exit at the end of the bridge, but you should keep going straight on 17.
Then, the road will fork with the left fork being the continuation of 17 and the right fork being Cannon Street.
Take the right fork on to Cannon Street.
Drive straight on Cannon Street and turn right onto Saint Philip Street.
As you continue straight on St. Philip, you will pass our parking garage on your right just before the major intersection at Calhoun Street.
If this garage is full, there are others further south on St. Philip Street.
- Dropping of Students from a Bus:
Our Department of Public Safety has requested that you use the right side of St. Philip Street south of Calhoun Street and north George Street as a place to drop off and pick up students on campus.

- Bus Parking:
The only legal place to park a bus is the city parking garage next to the Charleston Visitor's Center, located at
63 Mary St, Charleston, SC 29403.
Call the visitor's center at (800) 774-0006 for more information.
The bus entrance is on Ann Street between Meeting and King Streets.
To get there from campus, drive north on King Street and turn right onto Ann.
To get there from Highway 17, drive south on King Street and turn left onto Ann.
Then, halfway down the block, you will see a sign saying "Transit Mall" marking an alley with trolley tracks still embedded in the ground.
Turn in there and follow the sign at the right labeled "Bus Entrance".
There is a flat rate for parking a bus in this garage for any length of time up to 24 hours.

The red line on the map ie exactly 1/2 mile long, so this is an easily walkable distance for most people.
